Jason Benjamin has over 31 years of combined military and public safety experience. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1991 and became a Public Safety Officer for the Norris Department of Public Safety in Norris, TN.
He left Norris to work as a deputy sheriff with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department in 1992. While at the Sheriff's Department, he helped start a rescue dive team.
In 1994 he went to work for a different police department. He was asked to start a dive team for that department, also. Throughout his law enforcement career, Jason served as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, SWAT officer and instructor, defensive tactics instructor and field training officer.
Jason transferred from the police department to the fire department in 1998. He retired as a captain assigned to an engine company in 2019.
Jason is also an actor, stuntman and stunt coordinator. He has acted in films like Flight, starring Denzel Washington and The Last Movie Star, starring Burt Reynolds.
He's also acted on TV shows such as The Following, starring Kevin Bacon. Jason works as a stuntman on TV shows like SIX, on the History Channel, Nashville, on CMT and Revolution, on NBC. He is also the stunt coordinator for several hit true-crime television shows like Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda, Murder Chose Me, For My Man, and Snapped.
With his military, law enforcement, firefighting and EMS background, Jason has worked as a set medic, technical advisor and fire and water safety specialist on numerous films and TV shows all across the country.
